Looe Carnival Week

July/August

Taking place at the end of July and the start of August, Looe Carnival marks the beginning of summer and promises fun for all ages. Organized by the Lions Club of Looe, the week-long celebration includes a variety of events such as car boot sales, vintage car rallies, choir performances, and sandcastle competitions. The highlight is undoubtedly the Grand Carnival Procession on Saturday evening, offering fantastic entertainment. The whole family is welcome, with plenty of activities designed especially for children throughout the week.

Boardmasters

7th-11th August

Enjoy five days of music, surfing, and beach life against the breathtaking Cornish coast at Boardmasters. Featuring performances by artists such as Chase & Status and Stormzy, along with surfing competitions at Fistral Beach, this event is unmissable. Falmouth Week promises a lively celebration of music, sailing, and shoreside activities. With family-friendly events, diverse markets, and evening entertainment, there’s something for everyone. Planning is still in progress, so stay tuned for updates on this exciting event.

 

Ducks off bridge

 

The Great Looe River Duck Race

24th August 

This annual event sees 5,000 ducks released into the water at Looe Bridge, drifting with the tide to be retrieved near the RNLI Station. Prize details are available on the Looe Lions website:

  • 1st Prize: £1,000
  • 2nd Prize: £200
  • 3rd Prize: £100
  • 4th Prize: £50

Tickets cost £1 each and can be purchased from the following locations:

Colwith Farm Distillery, famous for it’s authentic Cornish Vodka, has introduced an exciting new Distillery Sessions event series – opening its doors after dark for guests to dance and dine among the stills. Enjoy a unique mix of soul, jazz, and pop music from Lanlivery’s own Rebecca Chew, while savouring seasonal cocktails and local cuisine in the distillery’s charming ambiance.
