Self isolation activities to do together
Following the Coronavirus outbreak, you might be starting to feel a little cooped up if you are self isolating!
The government’s current advice is that if anyone develops symptoms, everyone they live with must self-isolate, and to avoid going outside for all but ESSENTIAL travel.
This can mean that you may find it hard to keep yourself entertained (and sane!) over the next few weeks. Even though it’s hard and you may have missed out plans, it’s important to try and keep a positive mindset and try and deal with this unusual situation with the view that it’s a great opportunity to practice some self care or spend time together!
Below we’ve listed some fun indoor activities you can all do…
Cooking and Baking
There’s nothing better than the satisfaction of creating a healthy and delicious meal or baked treat. Have a look for what you have in the cupboards and come up with a dish! It doesn’t matter if it’s random, you’re still creating something and hopefully having some fun in the process. Who knows, you might discover a new favourite meal!
Board Games
A classic choice! Crack the board games out and have some fun with some old favourites! If you don’t have any board games, grab a pack of cards and play a good old game of snap.
Film Club
If you aren’t feeling 100%, then this is always a winner. Make a cuppa, snuggle up with a duvet and choose some feel good films to watch.
Keep moving!
If you’re up for it, put on your own exercise, dance class or karaoke! Youtube has some fantastic videos to follow or sing along to, for everyone from beginner to expert, pop them on and have a giggle whilst getting some moves in to keep you all feeling healthy. Or simply put some upbeat music on and have a little boogie around the home! You could even have a go at some yoga if you’re feeling stressed, to help you relax and feel more “zen”! This is a great activity to do in the morning, even if it’s just for 10 minutes, to set you up feeling great for the day.
Enjoy your Garden
Thankfully, among all the doom and gloom, we’ve all been enjoying some brighter weather, which has certainly helped cheer us all up, so if you are lucky enough to have a garden or decking, it’s a great opportunity to all get outside and get a little sun on your faces & simply enjoy being in the fresh air. It’s also a great opportunity to finish off some bits in the garden you started, whilst keeping a safe distance from your neighbours of course!
